Product Description:

Are you looking to buy gold for your portfolio but interested in a more unique form?  The American Gold Eagle proof is a limited edition of the American Gold Eagle Bullion Coin.

Some details about this coin:

  • Only a limited number of these coins have been produced by the U.S. Mint in West Point, New York. Their meticulous production includes stamping multiple times with special dies to achieve a glossy, mirror-like finish.
  • These coins are never touched by human hands and are distributed in velvet casings.
  • Each coin includes a Certificate of Authenticity.

These proofs are versions of the American Gold Eagle, which are beautiful coins sourced only from U.S. gold per the 1985 Gold Bullion Act requirements.  Coins created from 1986-1991 include Roman numerals for the date, while those struck in 1992 or later include Arabic numerals (the norm for U.S. currency).

American Gold Eagle coins are available in denominations of $5, $10, $25, and $50.  However, the coins were never put in general circulation as actual currency.

We also carry the bullion coin version of this product, which is a non-limited edition.  These are produced without the same unique production standards as these proof coins.

These coins are approved for purchase in a Precious Metals IRA.
