The value and prices of exclusive coins, semi-bullion coins, numismatic coins or other coins/bars do not always move in tandem with spot prices (or to the same degree), as such coins/bars can derive a portion of their value/price from factors other than the metal composition of the bar/coin, such as rarity and connection to historical events. The information in this calculator is based on spot prices, as individual coin/bar prices are highly variable and would depend on the specific coin and quantity of coins selected. Such prices, per coin, were not tracked historically in the same manner as the other indices listed making exact comparison difficult. This graph also does not factor transaction fees (including the difference between bid and ask (i.e., spread) pricing, i.e., Preserve Gold's gross profit) associated with purchasing gold or silver or stocks. Transaction fees could materially reduce the return.
