Product Description:

The Gold American Buffalo bullion coin was the first 24-karat bullion coin produced by the U.S. Mint.

This coin was authorized in 2005 under legislation known as the Presidential $1 Coin Act.  At the time, many Americans looked overseas for 24 karat gold coins.  The American Buffalo coin provided a domestic option. It grew in popularity over the American Gold Eagle coin, which was only 91.67% gold.

Other facts about this unique coin:

  • Introduced in 2006, this coin uses images by James Earle Fraser, an American sculptor who also designed the U.S. Nickel.
  • A testament to the American West, the front of the coin includes an image depicting a blend of Native American Chiefs: Big Tree, Iron Tail and Two Moons. The word “liberty” is engraved next to the picture.
  • On the back, you’ll find the iconic buffalo design from the American nickel.

The coin is offered in a face value of $5, $10, $25, and $50.

As the first pure gold coin to be introduced in North America, the American Buffalo coin makes a unique addition to your gold portfolio.

These coins are approved for purchase in a Precious Metals IRA.
